Peter Schwabe, Inc. was awarded the Milwaukee Business Journal Best New Development or Renovation Award for the Milwaukee Ronald McDonald House $11.5 million expansion project. The scope of the project increased the size of the facility located at 8948 W. Watertown Plank Road in Wauwatosa by over 26,480 sq ft, almost doubling the size of the existing building.
The plans include the addition of 36 guest rooms for families of hospitalized children receiving treatment at Milwaukee-area hospitals, bringing the total number of rooms to 71. In addition to the private guest rooms, the project also includes a new parking structure, new common areas such as study rooms for long-term patients, siblings and adults to keep up with home work or re-connect with work; music therapy and fitness facilities to help families relax and manage stress; also the addition of 3 new kitchens and the re-model of 2 existing kitchens and dining areas.
