Stabilizing Your Facility in an Emergency

Emergencies can happen at any time and be detrimental to your business operations. Severe weather, reckless drivers, work accidents, and other unforeseen disasters can damage your facility and create an unsafe environment for your customers and employees.
The saying, “plan for the worst and hope for the best” holds true here. If the worst does happen, it is important to be prepared.
- Have a plan in place to protect the safety and stability of your facility along with the people inside it.
- Conduct a thorough risk assessment to identify potential hazards.
- Make sure that your emergency response plan is up-to-date and includes protocols for evacuations, sheltering in place and communication.
- Train your employees on the emergency response plan to make certain everyone knows what to do in case of an emergency.
If an accident causes structural damage that may impede your operations, the Service/Small Projects Division at Peter Schwabe, Inc. can be on site within hours to secure and stabilize your facility. Our reliable and experienced team will work quickly to assess the situation and provide the necessary stabilization measures, such as shoring up damaged walls, reinforcing structures and stabilizing equipment. They will work with you to keep your business open if possible, with minimal impact on your customers’ experience, or to board up the facility for safety and reconstruction if necessary.
Recently, our Service Team went to the rescue when a Subway restaurant was severely damaged by a car driving into the building. (See below.) Thankfully, no one was hurt during this incident. Our team rushed quickly to the scene to stabilize the building, ensure the safety of customers and employees, and avoid any further structural damage.

Project Profile: Car vs. Subway

Our Service Team went to the rescue when this Subway restaurant was demolished by a car. Thankfully, no one was hurt during this incident. Peter Schwabe, Inc. rushed to the scene to stabilize the building to ensure the safety of customers and employees and avoid any further structural damage. Due to the extent of the damage, the store was forced to close temporarily. Our hard-working crew hopes to have them back up and running within a few weeks as replacement equipment comes available.
