The 38,000 square-foot Ronald McDonald House expansion project included remodel and new construction, almost doubling the size of the existing building. A new 34,000 square-foot, two-level parking deck was included, for a total 72,000 square-foot project area. With Peter Schwabe, Inc.’s pre-construction planning and on-site construction management, the project realized a $130,000 budget cost savings and remained open during the entire construction process.
The project highlights include the construction of 36 new guest rooms, a new two-level parking deck, new common areas and study rooms, a music therapy room, fitness room, the addition of three new kitchens -- one with a commercial prep area -- and the remodel of two existing kitchens with dining areas.
The Ronald McDonald House project was the recipient of The Milwaukee Business Journal's Best New Development or Renovation Award.
