Renovate, Remodel or Rebuild: Which option is best for you?
As businesses grow and change, so do general space needs. Many factors come into play when deciding whether to renovate, remodel or rebuild.
- Does your space have functionality limitations? How much needs to be done to meet the needs of your business and customer?
- Does your facility need technology upgrades?
- What is the overall physical condition of the building?
- How old is it?
- Are there health or safety concerns regarding your space?
- Is it up to date on all fire and building codes?
This is a small sample of questions to consider when making this highly nuanced, complex decision. With more than 95 years in the business, we at Peter Schwabe, Inc. are prepared and ready to help you achieve your project goals. Our team of highly experienced and disciplined professionals can help guide you to make the best, most well-informed decision for your business needs.
Renovate
Renovations include smaller updates, repairs and minor fixes to your current space to keep the building operating and improve the overall look and feel. The general layout, structure and design of the building stays the same. Renovating is typically the least cumbersome and cost-effective choice. Whether your facility needs a quick repair, damage clean up, general upgrades or routine maintenance, our Service/Small Projects Division is here to meet your needs. We manage every aspect of your project, from scheduling to managing multiple subcontractors to coordinating inspections. Like our other teams, this division is staffed with experienced professionals who are committed to completing your job quickly while minimizing disruption to your business.
Remodel
Remodeling a space is more involved than a renovation. It customarily includes changing the layout or structure of the building or internal space. Keeping your facility looking good and functioning well is critical to future growth; remodeling can be an effective way to update your company’s image, drive customer traffic, improve efficiency, invigorate your workforce and, ultimately, improve profitability.
For many clients, the thought of disrupting operations and employee/customer routines can be daunting. We have managed thousands of remodels, tenant improvements and other small projects over the decades. As such, we are able to anticipate unique and unexpected situations that may arise during the process. Our experience helps us work efficiently and complete your project quickly with minimal impact on your employees’ productivity and on your customers’ ability to access you.
Rebuild
Removing the existing structure or seeking a new location, then designing and building a brand new building, is the best way to meet all of your business needs. If renovating or remodeling costs are greater than a new build, or if the changes desired are immense or not possible in your existing space, starting fresh makes the most sense. It allows you to get exactly what you want out of your space.
At Peter Schwabe, Inc., our team is experienced working with architects to realize building goals. Our most preferred construction delivery model is Design-Build, which streamlines project delivery through a single contract between the owner and our team. In this method, we are accountable as your single source of responsibility for the entire project, start to completion.
Whether you decide to renovate, remodel or rebuild, our team is here for you. At Peter Schwabe, Inc., we go beyond the ordinary. We work with you to understand the unique aspects of your business that play into the project, your timeline needs, and what the space needs to achieve for you and your team.
